Pont du Gard

On the way from Lyon to Pézanas, we stopped at Pont du Gard, a Roman aqueduct built in the first century AD to carry water over 50 km. It crosses the river Gardon.

This photo of Sue and Marlin shows the scale of the aqueduct.

It was a hot day and a Sunday during a long weekend (Pentecost), so young people were wading and diving in.

After I posted this blog, Facebook informed me that I was not following community guidelines. I removed the video of the young man jumping into the water, and the other photos went missing because I had loaded them with a link, which did not continue to work.
